Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves made it four wins in a row on Thursday night after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers, 131-122. Edwards was the star of the show as the three-time All-Star turned in another strong performance for the Wolves.
Edwards helped lead Minnesota to victory with 25 points on 10-of-20 shooting, seven rebounds, a game-high nine assists, one steal and a block in 37 minutes of action. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard also shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc in another big night.
Edwards made NBA history on Thursday, too, becoming the third-youngest player to score 10,000 career points.
At just 24 years of age, Edwards is now third all-time for the youngest player in NBA history to eclipse the 10,000 points mark. He is behind LeBron James and Kevin Durant, two future Hall of Famers widely considered among the best scorers in the history of the game.
Edwards passed Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant for the No. 3 spot on the elite list. This development led to an honest admission from the Timberwolves star after his latest career milestone.
"I'm kind of sick that I got it from Kob,” Edwards said. “I wish I would have waited like 100 days or something. But it's all good."

Edwards’ postgame comments are a testament to how much respect he has for those who paved the way before him. He clearly holds the late, great Kobe Bryant in high esteem, admitting his regret on passing the Lakers legend.
Edwards isn’t too bummed about it, though. And more importantly, there’s going to be a lot more where that came from for the two-time All-NBA guard.
His next chance to add to his tally is on Sunday in a rematch against the Cavs. Minnesota will enter that road game with a 25-13 record, currently ranked No. 4 in the Western Conference.
