Anthony Edwards Sends Love to Minnesota Community After Recent Federal Agent Killing

It’s hard to mix politics with sports. However, with the inevitable rise of social media platforms, it’s difficult for the two topics not to collide. Take Anthony Edwards, for example. With the recent turmoil in Minneapolis, reporters immediately pounced on the opportunity to ask him about it.

While the streets in Minneapolis are in chaos right now, the Minnesota Timberwolves also have their own problems to deal with. With the trade deadline approaching, they are actively searching for a guard who can play alongside Edwards. That’s their primary short-term goal. However, with all that’s going on outside of basketball, the 24-year-old was asked about his comments on the latest shooting incident by the ICE.

“I just love Minnesota, all the love and support that they show me. So I’m behind whatever they with. I don’t really have social media, so I’m not in tune with everything. But I’ve heard about the stuff that’s going on. Me and my family definitely praying for everybody,” Edwards said to reporters.

Safe answer by Anthony Edwards. While Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown has drawn ire from the left, many have supported his stance on illegals. It’s a hard topic to discuss. But kudos to Edwards for his comments. He loves playing for Minnesota, but chose not to get into it that much because that’s his right.

Anthony Edwards Was Not Voted To Start In This Year’s ASG

Despite having an MVP-like season, Anthony Edwards’ name was curiously missing when the league announced the ASG’s starters. Much of the fans’ ire was directed at Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. They felt that Edwards was deserving of the starting nod.

They are not alone with their sentiment. Even Wolves forward Julius Randle had this to say about his teammate not starting in the game, “AE5 a starter everyday of the week stop playing! Put his name in that MVP convo too.”

The Wolves have a better record than the Dubs. Anthony Edwards is playing better than Stephen Curry this season. However, when it comes to global popularity, no doubt that Steph is much more well-known than Edwards.
