Scottie Pippen revealed some tough news on Monday, announcing via social media that his firstborn son, Antron, died. He was only 33.
Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would've made it to the NBA. He never let that get him down, though—Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became. (2/3) pic.twitter.com/kJOWsvWiYQ

Please keep his mom, Karen, and all of his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. A kind heart and beautiful soul gone way too soon. I love you, son, rest easy until we meet again. (3/3) pic.twitter.com/eYyQ6pcdtx

Pippen did not reveal the cause of his son's death.
Antron was born in 1987 to Karen McCollum, who married Pippen in 1988. They split in 1990.
He was a solid basketball player and spent time at Texas A&M International University and South Georgia Technical College. If it weren't for his medical condition, Scottie Pippen believes his son could have made it to the NBA.
