It is almost game time for the Hawks as they take on the Brooklyn Nets tonight at State Farm Arena. Atlanta already owns one win over the Nets this season and will look to make it another tonight.
Atlanta did not have any new additions to the injury report after being off for the past three days and there are not any changes to their starting lineup tonight either.
Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, De'Andre Hunter, Saddiq Bey, and Clint Capela will be the first five on the floor tonight for the Hawks. Bey has started in place of Jalen Johnson ever since he went down with his wrist injury.
The Nets are starting Cam Thomas, Spencer Dinwiddie, Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, and Nic Claxton.
There are going to be some differences in these teams from when they last met.
The Hawks still had Jalen Johnson in the lineup and the Nets did not have their top scorer Cam Thomas. Thomas is back and Johnson is still injured and that could make a huge difference in this game.
These are two of the best offenses in the NBA. Atlanta comes into the game 2nd in PPG, 16th in field goal percentage, 9th in three-point percentage, 3rd in offensive rebounding, and 20th in turnovers. Despite the loss of Johnson, Atlanta has remained one of the elite offensive teams in the NBA.
Per Cleaning the Glass, Atlanta is 3rd in points per 100 possessions, 10th in effective field goal percentage, 14th in turnover percentage, 4th in offensive rebounding, and 4th in free throw rate. You can nitpick at some things, but the Hawks are an elite offensive team.
As you may have guessed, Trae Young is spearheading this effort on the offensive end. Young is currently averaging 27.1 PPG while shooting 40.9% from the field and 35.3% from three. Young is second in the NBA in assists per game, averaging 10.9. He trails only Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton in APG. Young started off the season not shooting the ball well, but he looks like he is rounding into form and has gotten back to playing elite-level basketball on that end.
It could be another shootout tonight at State Farm Arena. Be sure to stay locked into All Hawks with the latest.
