The Atlanta Hawks have a bright future ahead of them because they have one of the league’s most promising players in Zaccharie Risacher.
The young Frenchman was the No. 1 overall pick of last year’s NBA Draft. Risacher averaged 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists on 45.8 percent shooting from the field across 75 regular season appearances (73 starts).
Risacher finished second in the NBA Rookie of the Year voting behind Stephon Castle. He received five first-place votes, 64 second-place votes, and 28 third-place votes for 245 points – 237 points adrift of the San Antonio Spurs guard.
He helped the Atlanta Hawks secure the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 40-42 record, but the team lost to the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat in their two play-in matches.
On Thursday, the Atlanta Hawks’ X (formerly known as Twitter) account posted Zaccharie Risacher’s rookie highlights, and teammate Larry Nance Jr. had some kind words to say about his rookie when he RT’d the highlight reel.
“The kind of player we’re going to be watching for a 15+ year career. Already gets what it means to be a professional
At just 20 years old, Risacher has ample time to develop into one of the league’s best two-way players, which will benefit Atlanta in the long run.
