Avery Bradley signs two-year, $11.6 million deal with Heat

Avery Bradley is going from one title contender to another.

The former Los Angeles Lakers guard is signing a two-year, $11.6 million deal with the Miami Heat, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. The news comes after Bradley declined his $5 million player option with the Lakers earlier this week.

Charania adds that Bradley "was sold on the Heat's culture" and was recruited by president Pat Riley and star swingman Jimmy Butler.

It's not surprising Bradley jumped at the opportunity to join the Heat, who are coached by two-time champion Erik Spoelstra. The Heat also recently re-signed Goran Dragic and Meyers Leonard, making them a favorite to repeat as Eastern Conference champions in 2020.

Last season with the Lakers, Bradley averaged 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.

The 29-year-old now is an NBA champion, but he didn't play a single playoff game for the Lakers after opting out of the NBA's return to play in Orlando. Now, he's hoping to stay healthy and win a ring with Miami.
