Bam Adebayo punched Tyler Herro in heated confrontation

Former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro got into a physical altercation on Friday in Las Vegas.

The confrontation reportedly occurred at a gym inside the Resorts World Casino. According to a report from The Athletic, Adebayo walked onto the court, and Herro “said something to him” that angered the All-Star center.

After hearing what Herro had to say, Adebayo approached his fellow Kentucky alum “without hesitation” and punched him in the face. A separate report from ESPN’s Shams Charania claims Adebayo had already been irate with Herro over comments the shooting guard made on social media.

The incident reportedly happened in front of an AAU team handled by Herro. The team’s coach confronted Adebayo after Herro got punched. Herro was said to be yelling at Adebayo as the latter was escorted out of the gym by security personnel. Per the report, the Las Vegas Police Department was not called to the scene.

Later in the day, the Heat took on the Milwaukee Bucks, Herro’s new team, in an NBA Summer League game. Herro attended the contest alongside other former Heat players who were also included in the trade that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami.

Herro was interviewed during said Summer League game and

“It’s all love. It’s all love in Miami,” Herro said of his relationship with the Heat. “I’ve seen a couple of the guys, and the coaching staff. Chris Quinn, Spo, front office guys. We are all good in Miami and just the opportunity for both sides to reset, get a fresh start and we’re both super happy for this.”
