Bill Simmons shares bombshell Jaylen Brown, Celtics prediction

Despite their aggressive attempts, the Boston Celtics couldn't get their hands on Giannis Antetokounmpo.

According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, the Celtics offered Jaylen Brown and a couple of first-round picks to get Giannis, but were unwilling to add more assets to the mix.

Giannis ultimately made his way to the Miami Heat, but now that the cat is out of the bag, the Celtics are in a tough spot with Jaylen Brown.

Considering that, Celtics superfan and NBA personality Bill Simmons believes Brown might not be with the team next season.

“I personally do not think they would have entertained this at the end of the season,” Simmons said on “The Bill Simmons Podcast.” “I think something definitely shifted as we went along, and I’m not convinced he’s going to be on the team in October. I would say it’s 50/50.”

Brown has been much more active on social media and in his streaming sessions this season, and he's been quite vocal about how he sees himself.

Even with a disappointing playoff exit, his comments about this being his favorite season were quite telling, and they imply he may want a team of his own.

Repairing a relationship once the player knows he was being shopped won't be easy, and Brown has been in Jayson Tatum's shadow for way too long.

The Celtics will obviously only move him for the right player, and there aren't many guys who'd be an upgrade for them.

That said, players can make life quite uncomfortable in the locker room when they don't want to be with a team, and given the latest turn of events, Simmons might be onto something with this prediction.
