When it comes to the never-ending NBA GOAT debate, it seems like everyone has their own opinion. Former high-flying slam dunker, Blake Griffin, recently weighed in, giving his thoughts on who his GOAT is.
“I loved LeBron like I mean he got into the league, in what, ’04? So I was like, I was in high school still. Yeah, he’s still playing… I was in high school when he came in. I went to college. I played for 14 years, retired, and he’s still playing. That’s crazy!” Griffin said on ‘The Adam Friedland Show’.
“I think people are, people constantly are talking about what he’s doing at age 40. What he’s doing at age 40 is insane. The problem is, when it’s like a guy that’s up for like the GOAT debate.
“It’s like you really like want him to contend for championships every year. The Lakers’ roster just, they weren’t good enough. They truly weren’t good enough… I’m just saying the GOAT debate. That’s the burden that he has to carry.”
Griffin makes some excellent points. For a guy to still be playing at a high level at his age and in the number of seasons he’s in, is insane. Still, in the short time Michael Jordan graced the league, he did things that still have fans dropping their jaws.
At the end of the day, everyone has their own opinion and you really can’t go wrong choosing MJ or LeBron as your GOAT.
