Portland guard Blake Wesley broke a bone in his right foot during the victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday, the Trail Blazers announced on Sunday.
Wesley, 22, sustained a fracture to the fifth metatarsal base with 3:52 left in the second quarter when he landed awkwardly after making a jump shot in the 109-107 home win. The Blazers said a timeline for his return will be determined at a later date.
A reserve point guard, Wesley is averaging 6.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 16.3 minutes in six games in his first season with Portland.
San Antonio selected Wesley with the 25th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft. He averaged 4.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 14.3 minutes in 156 career games (four starts) with the Spurs, who traded him to Washington on July 9.
The Wizards waived Wesley 10 days later, and he signed with the Trail Blazers two days after that on July 21.
