Boston Celtics’ Brad Stevens Named 2024’s Best NBA Executive

When Brad Stevens joined the Boston Celtics as its head coach, the team was a rough mess that hadn’t seen playoff basketball since their Big Three era. However, he turned that around and made the team one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league.

This role of his doesn’t stop even though he’s no longer actively drawing up plays on the sideline. As the President of Basketball Operations, he’s the brains behind the C’s transformation into a true juggernaut in the Eastern Conference.

His performance has been so good that people in and around the league believe that he’s one of the best minds when it comes to creating a championship-caliber roster.

The Executive of the Year isn’t as sexy an award as MVP or Rookie of the Year, but it’s a toast to the front office personnel who built the teams that are performing well on the hardwood.

When it came to voting for the 2024 winner, many of the voters only had one person on their mind for the award. The next person on the list after Stevens isn’t even getting half of the votes he collected:

Yahoo! Sports’ Darren Hartwell explained why the executive—who moved to this position in 2021—more than deserves the plaudit:

His acquisitions of Al Horford and Derrick White have been tremendous successes, and he’s also handed out contract extensions to several core players — Jaylen Brown , Jrue Holiday and Payton Pritchard, with Jayson Tatum and White deals potentially coming this summer — to keep Boston’s talented roster intact.

For Stevens to consistently find outstanding players who can play well alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is a massive win for the Boston Celtics. As long as he’s in the front office, fans can expect the C’s to keep on finding gems that can transform the team for the better.

However, it’s up to the Celtics to actually win games. If they don’t buckle under the pressure, Banner #18 is well within the cards for them.
