The Boston Celtics are set to fight for their season on Wednesday night against the New York Knicks. After losing Game 4 and superstar Jayson Tatum to a torn Achilles, the Celtics are hanging on by a thread.

While the injury news regarding Tatum was heartbreaking, Boston has received another update just ahead of Game 5 that is a positive piece of news.

Sam Hauser, who has been dealing with a sprained ankle, is available to play tonight against the Knicks.

Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reported the good news for the Celtics. In order to beat New York and keep their season alive, they will need all hands on deck playing at a high level.

Hauser has been a key player all season long for Boston. He brings top-tier 3-point shooting to the court and even when he's not shooting he's opening up the paint by spacing the floor.

Throughout the course of the 2024-25 NBA season, Hauser played in 71 games, starting in 19 of those appearances. He averaged 8.5 points per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds, while shooting 45.1% from the floor and 41.6% from 3-point range.

Looking into the future, Hauser is under contract through the 2028-29 season. He will continue being a big part of what the Celtics do offensively.

Game 5 will tip off at 7 p.m. ET and will air on TNT. If Boston is unable to pull off a win, it will be headed home and ending its bid for a second straight NBA Finals win in disappointing fashion.
