Boston Celtics Listening to Offers on Golden State Warriors Trade Target

Since the end of the NBA Finals, which saw the Oklahoma City Thunder crowned champions for the first time in franchise history, the Boston Celtics have struck two trades to move two key pieces of their roster.

Jrue Holiday was dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers, with Kristaps Porzingis being moved to the Atlanta Hawks.

Entering the offseason, Porzingis was named a potential player to keep an eye on for the Golden State Warriors to pursue. That much is now out of mind and out of sight, however.

Behind Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, the Warriors have a strong chance to be a contending squad next season, at least to some extent. How they build out the roster will determine how much of a chance they have to compete come April.

The Celtics, given they'll be without Jayson Tatum for a full season, are entering a fire sale to lower their tax bill and payroll. The Holiday and Porzingis moves might have just been the beginning.

Teams have since been calling regarding Derrick White and Jaylen Brown -- two more pivotal pieces within Boston's franchise.

“The Celtics are getting offers, calls on both Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. Their preference has been to keep both players. They are listening, but will a team get there?” ESPN's Shams Charania reports.

While it's been noted that the Celtics would prefer to keep both players, if the Warriors make the right trade pitch, they'll have Boston listening.

Outside of Golden State's buzz to pursue Porzingis, they've been linked to White, too. The remarkable guard was elite during the Celtics' title run in 2024.

Playing alongside Curry and Butler, White's shooting and play finishing skills would be a superb fit.

As the Warriors have plenty to figure out this offseason -- headlined by Jonathan Kuminga's future -- they should certainly be calling the Celtics and looking into ways to acquire White.
