One of the top names in the NBA Draft this year was Dylan Harper, who was selected second overall by the San Antonio Spurs. Harper is the son of five-time NBA champion Ron Harper.

Harper has another son who is trying to find his way into the NBA. Ron Harper Jr. went undrafted in 2022 coming out of Rutgers University. He eventually signed two two-way contracts with Toronto in consecutive years.

In three seasons, Harper Jr. spent most of his time bouncing around the G League. He has played just 11 total NBA games, 10 with the Raptors and one with the Detroit Pistons.

Harper Jr. has now signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Boston Celtics. This contract allows the Celtics to sign Harper Jr. on a non-guaranteed, one-year deal for the minimum. This is basically to have him try out for the team in training camps.

This gives the Celtics options, as they can waive him before the start of the regular season and designate him as an affiliate player. By doing this, Boston will retain his G-League rights.

It’s unclear if the Celtics will keep him on their active roster to start the season. Harper Jr. is going to try his best to join his brother on the court this upcoming season.
