B/R Re-Grades Pascal Siakam & O.G. Anunoby Trades

Last season featured major change for the Toronto Raptors.

The team opted to trade Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby. The moves paved the way for Scottie Barnes to be the franchise player.

The Raptors were able to surround Barnes with Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett. Those two young pieces were great additions to provide more of a scoring punch.

Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes re-graded those trades by Toronto, giving the Raptors a “B” for the Anunoby deal and an “A-” for the Siakam deal.

These look to be fair grades seeing what the Raptors got back. Ideally in the Anunoby move, they would have liked to have received a first-round pick. However, Barrett and Quickley made up for that lack of draft compensation.

On the other hand, the Siakam deal is still yet to be truly finished. With the highlighted piece coming back being Bruce Brown, Toronto is looking to move off of him for additional assets.

But, to get a first-round pick and a few seconds, it felt like fair value. Siakam was the team’s franchise player and he poured his heart into the city. Although, the Raptors cashed in at the right time.

Ultimately, Hughes gave fair grades on both trades. With Barnes, Quickley and Barrett set as the foundation, the Raptors got the hardest part out of the way. Now, it is about surrounding them with necessary talent.
