Brad Stevens is rightfully being questioned after Wednesday night's blockbuster Jaylen Brown trade.

The Celtics and the Sixers have agreed to a blockbuster trade involving Brown and Paul George. The Celtics are getting George, along with two first round picks and two second round picks. Meanwhile, the Sixers are getting Brown, a former NBA Finals MVP, who's only 29 years old.

ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania broke the big news.

"BLOCKBUSTER: The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN," he reported on Wednesday night, July 1.

Stevens, who went from leading the Celtics as head coach to leading their front office, is being questioned for the management of Brown as an asset.

The Celtics first tried to trade Brown to Milwaukee for Giannis. However, that didn't work out, as the Bucks chose a trade package from Miami instead.

Now, with Brown being upset, the Celtics felt that they needed to trade him. But they settled for a questionable package featuring a 36-year-old Paul George and multiple draft picks.

NBA fans questioning Brad Stevens' decision making

Stevens is getting ripped apart for the trade...and probably rightfully so.

"This is absurd. We went from Giannis to Paul George. Thank you for everything Jaylen, Boston loves you forever and you don’t deserve the (expletive) that happened this offseason. Brad Stevens has a lot of questions to answer," one Celtics fan wrote.

"Are the Celtics OK? Is Brad Stevens alive?" one fan added.

"I am beyond SHOCKED Brad Stevens did this trade," Jeff Goodman wrote.

Just days ago, Goodman was boasting that Stevens typically plays "chess" while everyone else is playing "checkers."

"Let’s not crush Brad Stevens yet. Let’s give him a chance to see how this thing plays out. Usually, he is playing chess while others play checkers," he said.

It doesn't look like a very good game of chess right now, though.

Boston Celtics fans are understandably furious.
