Branden Carlson Signs a One-Year Deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder have made a move for former Utah Utes star Branden Carlson in order to bolster their banged-up frontcourt in what could be a move that sees the former Runnin' Ute make his first NBA start.

Carlson never played for the Toronto Raptors but during his time with their G-League affiliate, Toronto Raptors 905, the seven-footer averaged 14.3 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game, and 3 assists per game showcasing the versatility he displayed with Utah.

With young star Chet Holmgren out for at least two months while Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams are also injured, Carlson has a perfect opportunity to establish himself as a solid piece for one of the association's best teams.

Since the Thunders frontcourt is decimated, Carlson could potentially be the tallest player on the active roster, giving him a solid chance to get some minutes and maybe even a few starts before the more established names are back and healthy.

A perfect situation to find himself in, Carlson lands with a young and talented Thunder team who are currently 11-2 and look primed to make a deep run in the Western Conference Playoffs with the former Ute potentially being a part of that push should he impress enough to stay on the roster.
