Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be traded relatively soon.
The buzz continues to grow around a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo deal, after it was reported that he and his agent were going to take the next few weeks to assess his future with the Milwaukee Bucks.
All arrows point to Giannis wanting to go elsewhere as the Bucks have not shown they can be a contender this season, even with him.
If Antetokounmpo does get traded, it will cost whichever team deals for him a bunch of assets and future picks.
The Bucks will certainly prioritize getting back many picks in a deal for their superstar.

The expectation is that Giannis will warrant at least four first-round draft picks in any deal for him.
However, Brian Windhorst discussed the problem teams will have if they surrender that many picks.
He said teams are concerned about getting into apron trouble as a result.
“Right now is not the time to give four first-round picks for anybody. Okay, maybe if Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander], or Victor [Wembanyama] came along, I don’t even know. People don’t want to do that because the aprons have spooked so many teams.
“All these teams are worried about getting into apron trouble, where they can’t reset their rosters, and you get into a situation like the Celtics were in, where you’ve got to rip your team down.
“I mean, Josh Kroenke, the owner of the Nuggets, got lit up last summer because he was talking about the fear of the aprons, and he said, ‘I don’t want to get to a position where I might have to trade Jokic.’ “People freaked out.
“We’re like, ‘I agree you shouldn’t have said it. It was like, two… you know, the kids don’t need to hear about that.’
“But this is how teams are thinking right now; they’re a little freaked out about the apron. So I agree with you, there aren’t going to be five first-round pick trades.”
It seems like four first-round picks for Giannis will be the starting point in trade negotiations.

Giannis has been linked to many teams, however, the Bucks would want to find a team who could also trade them a high-level player, who they can build around.
The Bucks don’t own their own first-round draft picks until 2031 so they can’t just bottom out and hope to stack up on young talent right away.
Therefore, the Bucks would need to bank on whichever team they trade with to bottom out sooner than later so Milwaukee can cash in on a high pick.
It will be interesting to see how the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes ultimately play out and what the package is for him if a trade goes down.
