Bronny Jameshas seen action in two straight games for the Los Angeles Lakers. The second-year guard was on the court for each of L.A.’s last two contests, totaling seven points, two assists, two steals, a block and one three-pointer in 17 minutes of play.

James’ contributions have been modest, but the fact that he’s been getting some run in has allowed the 21-year-old to build some momentum.

James was back in the NBA G League on Saturday. L.A. sent him down to the South Bay Lakers, where he suited up for Saturday’s matchup against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard took full advantage of his opportunity.

James went off for South Bay on Saturday. He dropped 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting, seven rebounds, five assists and a steal in 37 minutes of action.

James also came through down the stretch for South Bay, knocking down multiple three-pointers in crunch time. He finished the game 6-of-8 from distance, helping lead his team to a 140-132 win.

James’ strong play in Saturday’s win quickly drew a lot of attention online.

“He’s clearly talented and putting in work,” a comment on X read.

“yeah hes showing he can handle the pressure better than people expected,” said another.

“bronny quietly proving the doubters wrong,” declared a supporter.

“He's been a bucket,” another said.

“He just need to leave his Father’s shadow and he can be a man of his own,” a user wrote.

Speaking of his dad, even LeBron James was left impressed by his son’s heroics in the G League.

Bronny James’ big game comes right before the Lakers’ latest move. It was reported on Saturday night that James, along with fellow guards Dalton Knecht and Kobe Bufkin have all been recalled to the NBA.

The Lakers’ backcourt is still ailing with Marcus Smart missing the last three games due to an ankle injury. This could result in more playing time for James, who will likely be back in the mix in head coach JJ Redick’s rotation for Monday’s game against the Washington Wizards.
