There is no doubt that Nikola Jokic is the best player and the leader of the Denver Nuggets.

It’s obvious that the rest of the Denver Nuggets team follows in the footsteps of Nikola Jokic, including bench players.

The lack of talented bench players is what held back the Nuggets from coming out of the Western Conference in the 2025 NBA Playoffs.

However, listening to what Bruce Brown had to say about the Nuggets’ recent practice scrimmage, the organization has likely fixed that flaw.

Bruce Brown makes a ‘we were rolling’ admission about the Denver Nuggets bench

With the NBA preseason games starting soon, the Nuggets coaching staff is understandably trying out new lineups to bolster the roster.

That includes a lineup full of top-notch role players, including the likes of Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Jonas Valanciunas.

Brown recently shared his honest thoughts on the chemistry between the bench players after a practice session.

“It was good today. We were rolling. I think me, Tim, [Peyton Watson], Julian [Strawther], and Val,” Brown told reporters.

He added: “We were playing really well, just playing through Val kind of like the first unit plays through Jokic.”

Despite being a center, oftentimes the Nuggets’ starting lineup runs the offense through Jokic. The Nuggets have been incredibly successful with this strategy, and now they’re trying the same with the second unit.

Bruce Brown explains what the Denver Nuggets can do better this season

The appointment of David Adelman as the team’s head coach will undoubtedly lead to the Nuggets playing a different brand of basketball.

At times, the coach is only as good as the team’s players. With that said, coach Adelman is seemingly set for a solid first full season with the Nuggets.

“I think we can do everything. We’ve got shooters. We’ve got defenders if we want to pick up full [court], put pressure on the ball, and we can play through Val in the post.

“He can score with the best of them,” Brown stated.

While the Nuggets had to work hard to convince Valanciunas to stay with the team, the effort appears to be already paying dividends.

However, the true impact of Valanciunas’ arrival will only be seen once the regular season kicks off.
