Bruce Brown Surprises Teammates With Cowboy Boots

Bruce Brown has gotten the Toronto Raptors in the cowboy spirit.

Brown gifted Raptors players, coaches and team personnel all brand new Tecovas cowboy boots for this season.

Raptors forward Ochai Agbaji showed off his pair following practice:

“He’s a big cowboy and he loves his boots, and that style of life and the music. So it’s pretty cool what he did for the team,” Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic told reporters.

Brown is often seen wearing cowboy boots, a cowboy hat or even a Bass Pro Shop hat following games.

The Raptors acquired Brown from the Indiana Pacers last season as part of the Pascal Siakam trade. A knee injury bothered Brown and was lingering for him all last season, which required him to have offseason knee surgery. This has kept him sidelined through the preseason and it’s unclear when Brown will return to the court. It’s likely he will miss the start of the Raptors regular season, which begins on Oct. 23 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Raptors opted to pick up Bruce Brown’s $23 million team option, but the expectation is that the team will try and trade Brown at some point before the trade deadline. Toronto tried to move him at last year’s deadline but was unable to find its asking price of a first-round pick. Once healthy and at full strength, Brown can still be a solid contributor on a contending team and he should have multiple suitors interested in him at this season’s deadline.

Immanuel Quickley will not play in Raptors second preseason game

Immanuel Quickley isn’t ready yet.

The Toronto Raptors point guard will not play on Oct. 11 against the Washington Wizards. Quickley has yet to be cleared for contact following a left thumb sprain, according to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.
