The spotlight around LeBron James has gradually extended to his two sons, both of whom are now carving their own paths in basketball. Bronny James made history when he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers, stepping into the league and even sharing the court with his father. Meanwhile, his younger brother, Bryce James, has taken a different developmental route at the college level.

James, a 6-foot-5 guard, committed to the Arizona Wildcats in 2025 and entered his freshman season with significant expectations. However, after evaluating his role and long-term development, he made the decision to redshirt the 2025–26 season, meaning he has not appeared in any official games this year while preserving a full year of eligibility.

Despite not playing, James has remained actively involved with the team throughout the season; practicing, developing, and supporting from the sidelines.

Arizona has been among the best teams in the nation, finishing the regular season with a 36-2 record and earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.  Their postseason run has been equally impressive. The Wildcats advanced through the bracket with wins over the Long Island University Sharks (92-58), Utah State Aggies (78-66), Arkansas Razorbacks (109-88), and Purdue Boilermakers (79-64) to reach the Final Four for the first time since 2001.

Following the Elite Eight victory over Purdue, James had his own celebratory moment despite not playing a single minute.

After the game, he joined his teammates on the court and helped cut down the nets as a regional champion. The official March Madness account shared the clip on Instagram, with thousands of fans reacting to the moment.

The Wildcats turn their attention to the Final Four, where they are set to face the Michigan Wolverines in the national semifinal, scheduled for April 4 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

As for Bryce, his on-court debut will have to wait. He is expected to begin playing in the 2026-27 season, once he officially enters the rotation. For now, he continues to develop behind the scenes, while still finding ways to be part of Arizona’s championship run.
