Bub Carrington Etches Name In Wizards History Right Next To Bradley Beal

Ever since the trade deadline back in February, the Washington Wizards have been playing with a pep in their step. Initially, this newfound vigor wasn't quite translating to wins. However, after the All-Star break, the Wizards have been steadily showing signs of life in their campaign.

The Wizards have gotten by in the last two months by spreading their production evenly among the team. With Kyle Kuzma's departure, the young players of the team have been given bigger roles. Now, they're showing out. Rookies like Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George have upped their production with an increase in playing time and touches.

Against the Toronto Raptors, Carrington made a significant piece of history for the Wizards. The rookie made two threes against the Raptors, bumping up his career total to 101. Carrington achieved 100 threes in 62 games played, nearly breaking Bradley Beal's rookie record of 60 games, set in the 2012-13 record.

Carrington, the 14th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, scored eight points on 3-of-9 shooting from the field in the win against the Raptors. The Wizards rookie also added two rebounds and three assists in twenty minutes of action off the bench.

Carrington is having a solid rookie season. The Wizards guard is averaging 9.2 points, four rebounds and four assists per game. Starting in February, Carrington has bumped that average to 10.9 points and 4.7 assists per game, all while improving his shooting percentages (44.4% from the field and 39.2% from deep).
