The Bucks won’t pick up their team option for the 2026/27 season on guard Andre Jackson Jr., according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
The option would have paid Jackson a $2,406,205 salary in 2026/27 and put him on track for unrestricted free agency in 2027. Instead, he’ll hit the open market a year early. While 2023’s 36th overall pick would technically be eligible for a qualifying offer, Nehm suggests Milwaukee will pass on that QO, making Jackson an unrestricted free agent.
Jackson made 43 starts and averaged 14.6 minutes per game for Milwaukee in 2024/25, but his contributions (3.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game) were modest. Those numbers dropped off across the board in ’25/26 as Jackson had a hard time earning regular minutes in Doc Rivers‘ rotation and averaged just 2.4 PPG and 1.5 RPG in 8.5 MPG across 48 outings.
While several Bucks held player options on their contracts for 2026/27, Jackson was the only player with a team option, as our tracker shows.
