Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a huge talking point this week after Shams Charania of ESPN reported on Monday that the future Hall of Famer is open-minded about leaving the Milwaukee Bucks for the first time in his career.

The Bucks have won only one postseason series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns in six games.

Not only did Milwaukee lose to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of this year's postseason in five games, but All-Star point guard Damian Lillard also tore his left Achilles tendon in Game 4. The former Portland Trail Blazers star could miss the entire 2025-26 season.

Some believe Antetokounmpo should request a trade from Milwaukee this summer, but Jim Owczarski of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel doesn't see that happening.

"First: Giannis will not be traded this summer. The greater likelihood is, well, never," Owczarski, who covers the Bucks, wrote on Bluesky.

The Bucks, who have lost to the Pacers in the first round of the playoffs two years in a row, signed Antetokounmpo to a three-year, $175 million extension in October 2023. Antetokounmpo, 30, will make $54.1 million next season.

Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star. He has spent his entire career with the Bucks. The superstar forward has career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks.

Antetokounmpo doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks for the Bucks this season in 67 starts.

It will be fascinating to see what Antetokounmpo does this summer. If the swingman requests a trade, multiple teams will try to acquire him from the Bucks.
