Long before Giannis Antetokounmpo arrived in the NBA and became the superstar that he has become, the Milwaukee Bucks had Michael Redd. Perhaps he’s one of the most underrated players of his generation, but Bucks fans know how good Redd was during his days in the NBA.
From the 2003-04 season to the 2008-09 campaign, Redd averaged at least 21.0 points per game in a season. Over that stretch, he put up 23.5 points, while also earning the only NBA All-Star nod of his career. The former Ohio State Buckeyes star, who was taken by the Bucks in the second round of the 2000 NBA Draft, even earned an Olympic Gold Medal in 2008 as part of the famed “Redeem Team” in Beijing.
Redd played 11 of his 12 seasons in the NBA and retired from the league with 11,972 points through 629 games.
Redd, whose X profile said that he joined the social media platform in February of 2022, said that he finally had a “full season” using it. He also asked his followers to shoot him some suggestions about which accounts to follow next.
“First full season on Twitter. LMK who I need to follow for Bucks and general NBA content. Not hot takes, but real hoop talk, Xs and Os, love of the game type analysis and convo,” shared Redd.
Apparently, Redd isn’t a big fan of the “loud mouth” brand of sports media. He’s content with much more sensible and nuanced takes on the game that he loves the most.
Here’s to hoping that Redd grows his “following” count on X of great basketball content.
