The Bucks have officially signed 2025 second-round pick Bogoljub Markovic to a standard NBA contract, per NBA.com’s transaction log.
According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line (Twitter link), Milwaukee used the second-round pick exception to sign Markovic to a four-year, $9.3MM contract with a team option on the final year.
That’s essentially equivalent to a four-year minimum deal for the Serbian forward, as our minimum-salary chart shows. It’s unclear how many years will be fully guaranteed.
The 47th overall pick a year ago, Markovic was a draft-and-stash prospect for the Bucks and had a big year for Mega Basket in Serbia in his age-20 season. He averaged 18.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game and was named the MVP of the ABA League.
Markovic’s agent Misko Raznatovic suggested earlier in the spring that his client would likely play stateside in 2026/27. Markovic will be part of a youth movement in Milwaukee for a Bucks team that is trading Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami for a package that includes three players on rookie contracts, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Ke’el Ware, and Kasparas Jakucionis. Milwaukee also had two lottery picks in this year’s draft, which the team used to select Brayden Burries and Nate Ament.
