Bucks Star Crushes Fired HC Doc Rivers for Treatment of Players

Milwaukee Bucks big man Myles Turner didn’t hold back on his old head coach during the latest episode of his podcast “Game Recognize Game.”

During the podcast, who Turner co-hosts with WNBA Star Breanna Stewart, crushed Doc Rivers for not disciplining players properly throughout the disappointing season for the franchise.

“Doc Rivers, he didn’t fine anybody, ever,” Turner said. “Guys were late all the time. Guys were showing up to film whenever they wanted to show up. Guys were missing meetings. It was one of the craziest things I’ve personally ever experienced.”

Turner also insinuated that Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo abused the leisurely approach from Rivers who was fired following the season.

“If the plane took off at 2 o’clock, we weren’t leaving until 4:30. I’m being so serious bro. It was crazy,” Turner said. “Guys were an hour late to the plane. It got to the point where I just knew not to show up until an hour after they said the plane was taking off. Giannis is gonna show up whenever he wants, really. I think that just came with the territory. And once I kind of saw what was going down, I said, ‘Hey, man, more power to you. They ain’t gonna fine you. Do what you do.”

Turner signed a four year $107 million deal last summer to join the Bucks following a run to the NBA Finals with the Pacers where he played the first 10 years of his career.

For a large portion of the 2025-26 season, there have been numerous reports of Antetokounmpo’s displeasure with the Bucks and eyeing a trade out of Milwaukee. Now, after another poor showing from the team with limited resources to rebuild this offseason, a trade is looking all the more likely for the star big man.
