Myles Turner has been the talk of the town during the offseason following his decision to leave the Indiana Pacers.

Heading into the 2025-26 NBA season, Myles Turner will wear a jersey other than the Indiana Pacers for the first time in his career.

Turner surprised fans when he joined the Milwaukee Bucks. Turner’s arrival is undoubtedly one of the biggest changes for the Bucks.

But what does Turner think of the Pacers? A franchise where he spent 10 years.

Myles Turner seemingly took a shot at the Indiana Pacers

Turner enjoyed a terrific spell with the Pacers, including the 2025 NBA Finals run. However, since leaving the team, the veteran center has solely focused on the Bucks.

There’s nothing wrong with that, as Turner is understandably excited to share the court with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

But does it have to come at the expense of burning the bridge with his former team? Well, Turner seemed to have taken that path during the Bucks’ Media Day.

“I’m embracing change, embracing this cool part of my career. I’m heading into my prime. I’m in a city now that wants to celebrate me.

“There’s a great quote that says, ‘Go where you’re celebrated’. I feel like that’s here. People are excited to have me here,” Turner said, via Bucks Lead on X.

It felt like Turner was calling out the Pacers for not celebrating him during his decade-long tenure with the organization.

Myles Turner clarifies his controversial statement

As expected, Turner’s statement went viral on X. So much so that the 29-year-old had to clear the air with an explanation.

“This quote has nothing to do with Indy fans and everything to do with my free agency experience,” Turner tweeted.

Well, two things can be true at the same time. Let’s not forget that this was the first time that Turner tested free agency.

But as the veteran center pointed out, he never intended to take a dig at his former team. Instead, he was explaining the reasoning behind his decision to sign with the Bucks.
