That said, for Hield, the path forward is simple but demanding. He needs to rediscover the shooting consistency that once made him untouchable in big moments. For Butler, recovery is now the priority. 

The Warriors’ deadline decision was pragmatic. Bringing in Porzingis addressed a positional need, even if it meant parting with a respected locker-room presence. Hield’s contract and declining efficiency made him expendable in a season defined by urgency around Curry’s prime.
