Build your bankroll with this cross-sport parlay

We've had a clean betting week here with wins, and that seems like the far better approach to continue building on. We've got a pair of playoff games this evening, so it seems only right to grab a piece of each and find us another winner or two.

Two legs to prop up tonight

Leg 1: Jayson Tatum over 7.5 first-quarter points

We cashed Tatum's points on Tuesday thanks to a little help from OT, but we figured some immediate satisfaction might be better, so let's instead turn to the first quarter points market.

With Kristaps Porzingis out, Tatum has seen a far larger role in the opening frame, playing all 12 minutes in 10 of his last 12 games. That uptick in minutes is all we need to see here to know that he's going to get looks that can lead to 8+ points in the first quarter.

In games this season without Porzingis when Tatum plays 10+ minutes in the first, he's over this line in 12 of 13 games. That's a hit-rate we can get behind.

Leg 2: Miro Heiskanen over 0.5 points

This Dallas-Edmonton series figures to be the NHL Conference Final more likely to see goals, and off that belief, we'd like to grab us a point prop from one of the home team's most consistent producers.

Defenseman Miro Heiskanen piled up eight points last round, and he's gotten on the score sheet in four straight against the Oilers. Expect his involvement to remain as the Stars look to set the tone tonight.

Together, this cross-sport parlay comes in at a very solid +187 on DraftKings. Enjoy the action, see you back here same time tomorrow.

In the news ...

Mavericks hold on for Game 1 win over Timberwolves — In a back-and-forth game between the last two teams out West, it was Dallas holding on for a big Game 1 win, 108-104. Luka Doncic came up clutch in the final frame, dropping 15 in the fourth. Kyrie Irving also had a big night, finishing with 30. Anthony Edwards and Minnesota have their hands full with the two star guards and will look to even the series on Friday. The Timberwolves are 5.5-point favorites at home tomorrow.

Panthers blank Rangers in New York, win 3-0 — The opening game of the Eastern Conference Final went to Florida, which took an early lead off a Matthew Tkachuk goal and never looked back. Sergei Bobrovsky ended with a shutout win, and Florida now sits at +150 to win the Stanley Cup. New York should be well-motivated to even the score while they're still on home ice, so consider a bet on them winning tomorrow at -105.

All-NBA teams announced — The All-NBA teams for this season were announced on Wednesday, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum headlining the first team. The second team consisted of Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis, and the third team featured LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Domantas Sabonis, Tyrese Haliburton and Devin Booker. The most notable snub was likely Boston's Jaylen Brown, so perhaps consider backing his over 24.5 points tonight, a mark he's hit in seven of his last eight against Indiana.
