The Bulls are adding a familiar name to their training camp mix.
Free agent forward Kevin Knox has agreed to a deal with Chicago, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
While details weren’t immediately disclosed, the agreement is expected to be an Exhibit 10 contract, giving the Bulls his G League rights and making him eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300 if he spends at least 60 days with their affiliate in Windy City.
Knox, still just 26, played part of last season with Golden State’s G League club in Santa Cruz, averaging 25.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in 12 regular-season games. The Warriors signed him to a pair of 10-day deals in February and March, then kept him for the remainder of the season, though he appeared in only 14 NBA games.
The former No. 9 overall pick in 2018 has taken quite the tour around the league — stops with the Knicks, Hawks, Pistons, Trail Blazers, and Jazz — and has yet to find a consistent long-term home. Across 320 career games, he’s averaged 7.3 points and 2.8 rebounds on 39 percent shooting.
With just 19 players currently under contract, Chicago won’t need to make a corresponding move to bring Knox aboard. For the Bulls, it’s a low-risk flyer on a once-promising prospect who still has some untapped scoring ability.
