Bulls’ Coby White amid trade rumors: I prefer to stay in Chicago

Bulls guard Coby White said he would prefer to remain in Chicago, despite a recent report linking him to trade inquiries from Minnesota.

“I love being here. I love being on this team,” White said, via K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network. “But I understand it’s a business. It’s different going into free agency. They have to do what they think is best for the organization. It’s out of my control.”

Johnson reported that while White has drawn attention from around the league, there has been little to no meaningful engagement from potential suitors at this stage.

White is in the final season of a three-year, $36 million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The 25-year-old is enjoying the strongest start of his career, averaging 22.1 points and 5.4 assists while shooting 43.1 percent from the field.

A former North Carolina standout, White turns 26 in February. He remains fully trade-eligible, with no contractual restrictions limiting Chicago’s options.
