The hunt for a new head coach for the Chicago Bulls is intensifying. Already, candidates’ names have been floated around, among them is former player Jerry Stackhouse.

Now, another name is out that the Bulls will have a chance to talk to. On Friday, it was confirmed that the Bulls were granted permission to interview Miami Heat assistant head coach Chris Quinn, per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

Quinn had played for the Heat from 2006 to 2010. In 2006, they won the NBA championship. He then had stints with the New Jersey Nets, San Antonio Spurs, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Quinn began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Northwestern University in 2013. Afterward, he became an assistant coach for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA G League.

In 2014, Quinn was hired by the Heat as an assistant coach.

The Bulls are in the midst of a top-down restructuring following a 31-51 season. It began with the firings of executive VP Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley. Afterward, head coach Billy Donovan stepped down after six seasons.

Bryson Graham was then hired as the Executive VP of Basketball Operations after years with the New Orleans Pelicans and Atlanta Hawks.

The Bulls are also slated to score big in the NBA Draft after locking up the No.4 pick in the Draft Lottery.

Moreover, the Bulls are focusing on younger coaches who are much more in tune with the analytics and dynamics of the present-day NBA.

The announcement of the new head coach could come at any time.
