Bulls Injury Update: Patrick Williams Out at Least 2 Weeks

Patrick Williams is the latest Chicago Bulls' player to go on the shelf with an injury. The team announced Tuesday that Williams is dealing with acute bone edema in his left foot. The fourth-year forward will begin a period of "active rest" and be reassessed in approximately two weeks.

Williams missed Sunday's game with left midfoot soreness, and we now have further clarity on the issue. Given Williams' new timeline, he'll likely be sidelined through the NBA All-Star break, which begins on Feb. 16.

So far this season, Williams is averaging Williams is averaging 10 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game across 43 contests. He last played on Jan. 25 against the Los Angeles Lakers and recorded six points, six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 24 minutes of action.

With Williams sidelined, the likes of Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips appear poised to see increased minutes. Phillips showed flashes of potential in Sunday's win over the Portland Trail Blazers by posting 11 points, two rebounds, and one block in 23 minutes.

The Bulls are back in action Tuesday when they host the Toronto Raptors. Tip-off is at 7 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
