Bulls legend gushes over Caleb Wilson’s ‘killer’ quality

Almost everyone in Chicago is excited about Caleb Wilson. Undoubtedly, the No.4 draft pick by the Bulls is expected to do great things.

One of those beaming with glee is Bulls legend Horace Grant. On Monday, Grant was thrilled that the Bulls got Wilson, per Kyle Odegard of Action Network. Mainly, he admired Wilson’s “killer instincts.

“Oh my goodness, man,” Grant said. “What a beast. What a freakin’ beast. He has all the intangibles, the skillset. But what I love about him is that he has the mindset of a killer. A dog. He goes out and gets it.”

In the same breath, Grant said that this was the best move the franchise made in years involving a certain someone. Additionally, Grant didn’t go too far in saying Wilson was up to par with a few of his contemporaries.

“It’s one of the best draft picks since Derrick Rose. I’m not going to put him with MJ and myself and Pip, but since Derrick Rose, one of the greatest choices the Bulls have made, in my humble opinion.”

Grant played for the Bulls from 1987 to 1994 and won three titles.  In 2008, Rose was selected as the No.1 draft pick. He would go on to solidify his place amongst the Bulls’ best.

Meanwhile, Wilson is fresh off a standout NBA Summer League. He averaged 23.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game.

“When you showcase yourself like that, especially in the Summer League, it gives us Bulls fans hope that he will be one of those pieces along with Josh (Giddey) and (Matas) Buzelis,” Grant said. “There are more pieces that we need, but man, what I saw in Vegas, he’s the real deal.”
