Former Chicago Bulls assistant coach Maurice Cheeks will join current New York Knicks (and former Bulls) head coach Tom Thibodeau's New York Knicks coaching staff, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Additional reporting from NBC Sports Chicago's K.C. Johnson cited "the Knicks made him [Cheeks] a strong offer" in addition to Cheeks having family in the New York City area as factors that influenced Cheeks' decision to move on to the Knicks organization.

Initial offseason reports on Maurice Cheeks' job future indicated he'd remain with the Bulls organization in a non-coaching role reporting to Billy Donovan.

The ripple effects of the Bulls' coaching staff changes this offseason have resulted in the additions of Wes Unseld Jr. and Dan Craig.
