The Chicago Bulls are 1-2 on the early season after dropping their home opener to the Washington Wizards on Saturday night. After the Bulls jumped out to a lead, they saw the Wizards storm back and build a double-digit lead themselves.
While the Bulls battled back and got it down to three with under 20 seconds, they eventually lost 124-120. However, there was a big bright spot in this game in the form of rookie Caleb Wilson.
After he helped lead a furious second-half comeback against the Milwaukee Bucks, Wilson followed it up with his first double-double of his career on Saturday night. Wilson finished the game with 30 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. He went 10-of-24 from the field as well.
That included six dunks in the game as he asserted himself around the rim. For Wilson, it was all about being aggressive in this game
“I’m just being aggressive,” Wilson said after the game. “They’re a team that’s really big, and our opportunities are in transition because they have so much size, so I was just using that to my advantage to try to get downhill and create opportunities for myself.”
With his performance, he’s also entered some rare territory.
The rookie entered this game with 37 points in his first two games, matching Michael Jordan’s start. But on Saturday with his 30-point performance, he entered rare territory. His 67 points through the first three games are second-most in franchise history behind only Jordan who had 74 in his first three.
CHICAGO BULLS HISTORY
Caleb Wilson has scored 67 points through his first three NBA games, the SECOND-MOST by any player in Bulls history.
The only player ahead of him? Michael Jordan with 74. https://t.co/w9A6jmvXOe pic.twitter.com/458LhF2UxP

That’s not all. Wilson’s double-double made him the first player since 1999 to have a 30/10 game within their first 3 career games. That’s pretty damn impressive for the 20-year-old.
While things could be a little bleek for the Bulls this season, Wilson will be someone to watch throughout and his development is going to be the biggest storyline.
