Cavs, Celtics Considered Frontrunners for Danny Green
Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran guard/forward Danny Green has agreed to a contract buyout with the Rockets, and the Cavaliers and Celtics are among the teams he could join next, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Cavs, Celtics and multiple others are interested in Green, who was traded from the Grizzlies to the Rockets at last week’s deadline. He has spent most of the season on the injured list and has appeared in just three games.

Last season, he appeared in 62 games with the 76ers, providing his usual dose of perimeter defense, scoring 5.9 points and shooting 38 percent on 3-pointers.

Green, 35, is 6-foot-5 and has also spent time with the Lakers and Spurs, after spending his rookie season with the Cavs. Cleveland originally drafted him with the No. 46 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

The Cavs had attempted to trade for a 3-and-D wing at the deadline, to no avail, but attempt to try to sign one in the buyout market or from among the list of available free agents, sources told Hoops Wire.
