The Cavaliers have trimmed their roster, waiving camp invitees Tristan Enaruna and Norchad Omier, according to the NBA transactions log.
As we relayed earlier, they also reportedly waived guard Killian Hayes. That report has been confirmed.
Enaruna and Omier each joined Cleveland on Exhibit 10 contracts ahead of training camp after strong showings in the Las Vegas Summer League. Both are now expected to join the Cleveland Charge of the G League, assuming they clear waivers.
Enaruna, a Netherlands native and former Cleveland State standout, wrapped up his college career with the Vikings by averaging 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds on his way to First Team All-Horizon League honors. Omier, a 6-foot-7 forward, averaged 15.7 points and 10.8 rebounds at Baylor last season after prior stops at Miami and Arkansas State.
Meanwhile, Hayes is a former No. 7 overall pick and spent last season with the Pistons and Nets. He averaged 9.0 points and 5.2 assists in six games for Brooklyn, along with 20.7 points and 7.6 assists in 18 G League outings.
He too is likely headed for the Charge, provided another NBA opportunity doesn’t come along first.
The Cavs’ latest moves bring the preseason roster closer to regular-season form as they gear up for next week’s opener at Madison Square Garden.
