Al Horford has been around the NBA for a long time. The Boston Celtics center has played in 196 total playoff games. His time with the Celtics accounts for 118 of those contests, including this year's run. It's no surprise that in that time, he has some playoff milestones on his resume.

Not only does Horford have those, but he's also surpassed some NBA legends in the process. That even includes NBA legends who came into the league at the same time as him, like Kevin Durant.

Horford and Durant entered the NBA in 2007 and have had extensive playoff runs.

Since 2020, Horford has been to two NBA Finals and three conference finals, while Durant hasn't advanced past the second round. That paved the way for Horford to surpass Durant in a major category on Wednesday.

The official Celtics Stats account on X revealed how Horford surpassed Durant during the Celtics' win over the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

"Al Horford just moved past Kevin Durant into 9th place on the NBA's all-time playoff defensive rebound list with the 1,199th of his career," they wrote.

Even after their Game 5 win, the Celtics are on the brink of elimination against the Knicks. Until then, Horford will have at least one more game to garner more rebounds and climb further up this all-time list.

Multiple Celtics alumni are ahead of Horford, including Larry Bird, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kevin Garnett. At 1,201, he only needs 14 more rebounds to surpass Garnett.
