Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics welcomed the Cleveland Cavaliers to TD Garden on Friday night in a matchup between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference.
The Celtics entered the game with a 42-17 record, ranked as the No. 2 team in the Eastern Conference standings, while the Cavaliers were listed at No. 1, boasting a 48-10 record ahead of the game.
During the matchup against the Cavaliers, Tatum etched his name in the NBA history books.
Tatum became the first player in the NBA's play-by-play era (1997-98) to record 30 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the first half.

Tatum entered the matchup averaging 26.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game. The 26-year-old has put the Celtics in position to compete for another championship, alongside a star-studded group with Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White and Jaylen Brown.
Throughout his young career, Tatum has already established himself as one of the biggest stars in the league. Tatum has been named a six-time NBA All-Star, four-time All-NBA team member and 2024 NBA champion.
While the Celtics and Cavaliers matchup has yet to conclude, they have another challenging game on the horizon, set to face the Denver Nuggets on March 2 at 1 p.m. ET.
