The Boston Celtics are going to be a very different-looking team this year, meaning that Jaylen Brown is going to have to carry the load. With the Celtics missing three starters from last year, Brown will have to be the number-one option.
Brown has shown that he is certainly capable of being the top option for the Celtics. He won both Eastern Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP when Boston won the title in 2024.
With Brown having more opportunities to score the ball and create for others, Derrick White believes that both he and a rival guard will make first-team All-NBA.

While speaking on his White Noise Podcast, he believes that Brown and Luka Doncic will make first team All-NBA.
"I mean, probably [Nikola] Jokic, Giannis [Antetokounmpo], that's probably the obvious ones," White said. "Luka Doncic, Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander], and Jaylen Brown."
Picking Doncic to make that team is not surprising. He was one of the best players in the NBA once he was traded to the Lakers. Doncic makes the Lakers a much more dangerous team.
White knows how good Doncic is after taking him on in the 2024 NBA Finals while he was playing with the Dallas Mavericks. The Lakers are hoping to get back to the NBA Finals with Doncic on the roster for an entire season, alongside LeBron James.

While putting Doncic on that team is a no-brainer, putting teammate Jaylen Brown on the first team is very surprising. That shows how much faith White has in his teammate to excel as the top option on the team.
The Celtics are a really good team when everyone is fully healthy. Without Jayson Tatum playing this season because of a torn Achilles, Brown is going to have a lot of pressure on him to be an elite player.
Doncic has almost nothing left to prove when it comes to individual prowess. His numbers pretty much speak for themselves.
After being traded to the Lakers, Doncic averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game.
