The Boston Celtics are set to begin Game 3 of the first round of the NBA playoffs on Friday in Orlando. The defending NBA champions lead the series 2-0 after winning back-to-back games at home.

Now, the Celtics face the tough challenge of playing on the road. Boston went 33-8 away from home during the regular season and will take on a Magic team that posted a 22-19 record at home.

With their backs against the wall, the Magic are expected to "bring the house" against the defending champs.

The favorites received some bad news Friday morning regarding the status of one of their star players.

The Celtics announced that star guard Jaylen Brown is questionable for the matchup as he nurses a right knee impingement.

Brown was a late addition to the injury report with a knee injury. Despite being banged up, he is averaging 26 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in two playoff games.

In Game 2, Brown played 41 minutes and scored 36 points, helping the Celtics defend their home court with Jayson Tatum sidelined. He joins top scorer Jayson Tatum, along with veteran guard Jrue Holiday, on the injury report.

Brown was drafted in the first round by the Celtics in 2016 as the third overall pick.

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard was named Finals MVP last season when the Celtics defeated the Mavericks in five games. During the 2024 playoffs, Brown played in 19 games and averaged 23.9 points per game.

In the 2024-25 regular season, he averaged 22.2 points while missing 19 games due to various injuries. Brown also added 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
