Celtics might pull off shocking Stephen Curry blockbuster trade

The Boston Celtics are probably one of the biggest losers of the NBA offseason.

They couldn't trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, and they replaced Jaylen Brown with the declining, injury-prone Paul George. However, if there's something that the Celtics can always count on, it is president of basketball operations Brad Stevens having an ace up his sleeve and a big move to make next.

According to SI Celtics beat reporter John Karalis, the big move might come with some help from the Golden State Warriors. More specifically, a league-shattering move for Stephen Curry.

The Celtics could put together a huge Stephen Curry trade

In this scenario, the Celtics would essentially turn Jaylen Brown and Sam Hauser into the greatest shooter of all time.

"My trade package is going to be George, the picks acquired from Philadelphia, and Sam Hauser for Curry," Karalis wrote

Notably, the Celtics got two first-round (2028 and 2031) draft picks and two second-round (2028 and 2030) draft picks in the deal. Granted, Karalis said that he doesn't think Curry will be traded during the season, but that doesn't mean he won't be traded at all. Also, he reported Stevens has already tried to test the field on a potential trade for No. 30.

"There's no doubt Brad Stevens has already been on the phone with the Warriors brass to pitch a deal [for Curry]," Karalis wrote. "Boston has a path to making a decent deal for both sides."

Curry has always been vocal about his desire to stay with the Warriors for the remainder of his career, but we've seen crazier things happen in this league. And if the Warriors continue to fail him and show that they can't give him the supporting cast he needs, he might ultimately choose to make a business decision.
