Last season, Porzingis averaged 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. These are solid numbers, but he only appeared in 42 games.
Along with Porzingis, the Celtics are sending a second-round draft pick to the Hawks. Atlanta is sending Terance Mann and their No. 22 pick to the third team involved in the trade, the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets are sending Georges Niang and a second-round pick to the Celtics. This is the second trade the Celtics have made in the last two days, as they sent Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers.
In return for Holiday, the Celtics acquired the younger Anfernee Simons. Even with these last two moves, the Celtics may not be done quite yet.
Rumors are swirling around that Boston is listening to offers for the 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown. If this rumor happens, it would truly come as a shock.
Stay tuned, NBA fans. Things may get a little crazy this offseason.
