The Los Angeles Clippers dropped to 3-4 on the season with their loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. They are now on a two-game skid, with their losing streak potentially extending to three very much a possibility.
Ty Lue's men return to action on Thursday against the Phoenix Suns, but the Clippers will be without their two best players in Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. Leonard will miss his second straight game due to an ankle injury, while Harden is out due to personal reasons.
The good news for the Clippers, however, is that they have one player returning: guard Bradley Beal.
Beal, who is averaging 8.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.5 assists in four games (all starts), has been removed from the injury report after sitting out the Thunder game to rest and manage his knee injury.
To recall, Beal had surgery on his right knee last May. Naturally, just roughly six months removed from the procedure, it's not surprising that the Clippers have been cautious about his workload.
That being said, the Clippers remain confident in Beal's ability and the impact he can make on the team. Lue said as much in his press conference on Wednesday when asked how long his team can afford to experiment to help its players get into rhythm.
"Brad is a starter for us," Lue said. "He's gonna play, he has to get his rhythm. Like I say, he had knee surgery in May, you know, so just bringing him back and making sure he's getting comfortable. We can't just move him to the side. He's a big part of what we're trying to do. We’ve got to bring him along slowly, we’ve got to be smart about it and we can't just rush the process."
Here was @TomerAzarly pregame with a question to Coach Lue about lineups and if they can afford to experiment in the West where Coach Lue talks about Bradley Beal being a starter with this Clippers team.

After Thursday's game, the Clippers will face the Suns once again on Saturday, albeit at home at the Intuit Dome.
