Clippers Exercise Brook Lopez’s Option, Pass On Bogdanovic, Batum

However, L.A. has opted against picking up its options on Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nicolas Batum, which were worth $16.02MM and $5.88MM, respectively, reports Law Murray of The Athletic (Twitter link). Those two veterans will become unrestricted free agents.

Lopez, 38, was a rotation regular for the Clippers all season long after joining the team as a free agent last summer and became a full-time starter following the mid-season trade of Ivica Zubac.

While he’s no longer the dynamic two-way player that he was when he was the defensive anchor for the champion Bucks in 2021, Lopez was still productive in his 18th NBA season, averaging 8.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 21.8 minutes per game while hitting 36.0% of his three-point attempts.

Bogdanovic, conversely, is coming off the worst season of his NBA career, as health issues limited him to 23 games (three starts). He averaged just 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 19.7 minutes per contest, shooting a career-low 38.8% from the field and 34.7% on three-pointers. The Serbian guard has reportedly drawn interest from teams overseas, with the Nuggets also believed to have its eye on him as a potential free agent target.

Batum, meanwhile, averaged just 4.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Clippers in 2025/26, though he averaged 17.5 MPG across 74 outings and made 40.4% of his three-point shots. He’ll turn 38 later this year and it’s unclear whether he plans to continue his playing career or consider retirement this summer.
