The Los Angeles Clippers are likely to suffer some losses this offseason even if they come to terms with James Harden to return.
They've already had Nicolas Batum decide to retire after he returned to LA this past season.
Ben Simmons seems unlikely to return after having a small role during his short stint with the Clippers and getting minimal playing time in the playoffs.
Patty Mills could continue his travels around the league after playing just 5.1 minutes per game for the Clippers.
However, it is a player whose name may not be as familiar to basketball fans who would likely be the biggest loss for the Clippers if he left in free agency.
Clippers wing Amir Coffey heads into this offseason as an unrestricted free agent.
He is coming off of a productive season off the Clippers' bench and Forbes' Mat Issa named him the NBA's "best kept secret" ahead of free agency.
Coffey signed with the Clippers back in 2019 after he went undrafted and has been with the organization ever since.
He came along slowly, splitting time between the Clippers and their G-League affiliate early in his career. Coffey averaged less than 10 minutes per game in each of his first two seasons.
Over the last few years, he has become a much more important piece for the Clippers.
This past season, he played a career high 24.3 minutes per game and averaged 9.7 points per game while shooting 47.1% from the field and 40.9% from three.
He's not going to find himself at the top of anybody's free agency lists, but he will be a solid addition for whoever ends up with him.
Coffey has proven that he can score efficiently off the bench and is a decent enough defender.
If the Clippers aren't able to get him to stick around in LA, some team is going to be happy with joining their team as a role player.
