Max Strus’ first preseason game with the Clippers ended about five minutes after it began.
Strus came up hobbling during Sunday’s game against the Warriors in Hawaii and headed directly to the locker room, according to Anthony Slater. The Clippers later ruled him out for the rest of the game with a right foot injury, ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk reported. No diagnosis or timetable has been announced.
Strus arrived from the Cavaliers this offseason and was getting his first game action with his new team. Instead, he spent most of the night in the locker room.
The Clippers went on to win 104-101, with rookie Keaton Wagler hitting a stepback jumper to put them ahead in the final seconds.
They’ll take the win. They’d probably like an update on Strus’ foot a whole lot more.
